Château de Pibarnon (Comte de Saint Victor)
Bandol Bourboulenc Blend

Pale yellow in color.
Light to medium in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate and elegant.
Showing citrus, apples, light earth, herbs, spices, sea salt and white pepper.
Nice finish with limes and light almonds.
This is a very tasty white blend from Bandol. Rich, but not extracted. Nicely balanced and complex. Spicy and entertaining.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. A very interesting wine.
A blend of 55% Clairette, 15% Bourboulenc and 15% of local grapes. Aged in stainless steel vats and large French oak barrels.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
$60.

Really neat how this has developed. Slightly oxidative but retains a surprising freshness

What a stunner and something tells me the best is yet to come with some additional cellaring

Continuing on with the Mediterranean White theme - another aromatic textural white, this time from Bandol. Made from mainly Marsanne, then Clairette, Bourboulenc and Ugni Blanc. A few years ago my notes said Unctuous and almost too much. A little bland now after the Grillo. We see very little Bandol Blanc in Australia the importer said.

First time having the Blanc and thought it was really very pretty with nice delicacy throughout. Good stuff.
