Reminds me of traveling through Provence decades ago, though the Cotes de Provence reds back then were on the lighter, fresher side. Nose has pungent garrigue herbs, iodiney minerals, some pungent dark berry skins. Soft and mouthfilling, dark and minerally, lots of green peppercorns. Acids on the low side, and some tannin giving texture. Heat (14%) shows through a little on the finish. Not many wines like this around today, so I’m enjoying it.
