Vintage 2009 - at auberge La Gaillotière in Chateau-Thebaud. I don't very often eat with a view at the vineyard, this is a very nice place to do so. Chateau-Thebaud is one of the nine Muscadets with a ' commune-appellation '. This wine is from granodiorite terroir. These Muscadets can age. I loved this one: lots of minerals, creamy + buttery taste. Was good with a fish dish and brochette of chicken. #muscadet #chateauthebaud #fishwine

Opened this 99 cent wine to find it had crossed over while the veil was thinnest. But surprised to find it even half alive after 13 lucky years! Dry Muscadet madness! Ghoulishly honeyed at this point, but still retained its last breaths! Minerally and lemon pith with grace! Drink this producer at 10 years and you will be very very happy! Structured and stoic. Built to last!!
