Château de Haut Coulon
Cadillac Red Bordeaux Blend
Cadillac, Entre-Deux-Mers, Bordeaux, France

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Still fruity on the nose with red and blue fruits.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate and simple.
Showing red fruits with light wood, spices, coffee, bitter herbs and spices.
Short finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.
This 6 year old was probably better a couple of years ago. A little unbalanced, and better with food. Tangy and spicy.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
85 points.
$20.

The 2015 Haut Coulon is much bigger and darker than it was from barrel. The Petit Verdot component is much more evident today, in both the wine's flavor profile and its overall structural feel. Scorched earth, tobacco, dried herb and dark fruit are given an extra level of concentration and richness by fermentation in barrel. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2018)

Fantastic nose full of big bold aromas; excellent start. Wow and the taste to follow does not disappoint. Well balanced without any pairing. (Hint: let it age!)
