So much good cab franc-ness. Perfectly light, but concentrated Loire cab with nice acid zing.

It’s as if a bundle of herbs was dropped into a fruit bath inside a woodsy basket. Happy to be sipping this on a frigid night.

Enjoyed this 95 CF 5 CS blend from Saumur. Classic mineral backbone was present, just enough punch, but the best was its rounded and elegant texture that manifested on the palate. Not devoid of character, not sterile by any means, but just a classic Loire CF that decided to dress up for the evening and showed well. Clean, layered, downright drinkable

Outstanding and seriously undervalued Cabernet Franc. Pire is quickly becoming one of my go-to producers for value in the Saumur. This has it all- bright fruit, acid, funk, delicacy, green herbal notes and vegetal savoriness. Classic.

Fresh to death! Floral and Cigar Smoke aromatics with good brightness on the palate. Dances like a ballerina.

More elegant and focused than the gorgeous yet rustic '13 version. Excellent stuff.

Right, does anyone else think good, acidic Loire cab franc pairs pretty well with BBQ? (Ribs, brisket, wings, mac and cheese, cornbread.)

Pretty, floral, delicate herbs, and deep funk. Great example of rustic beauty.

2013. Sleep on this estate all you want, because the current price suits me just fine.
