Now this was a treat, along with the fantastic Halibut that was prepared for us! There really isn't anything quite like an aged Burgundy. Drinking the good ones young is a waste, and this was a great example of secondary traits getting their 15 seconds of fame. The nose was very interesting, somewhat unique for Pinot. The first aroma to tingle the nose was the smell of unpasteurized honey & honeycomb, followed by the lovely, inviting flavors of humid forest floor, cloves, chamomile, decaying red fruit, decaying violets, and fresh ground nutmeg. The liquid was that classic beautiful brick red, what seems like art in the glass. The integration of fruit, tannin, and acid was at its peak of balance, with strawberries and raspberries shining through. I have a love for Burgundy, and this bottle reminded me of why. Drink now through 2020. This would be a bottle I'd bring to a dinner party to impress!

Honey on the nose!! Soft and subtle on the palate. Very interesting aged Burgundy but this vintage has reached its peak. Went well with halibut

Dinner out with Diane & Ray in Lancaster, PA. This was one of the most smooth and silky wines we ever tasted! The light fruity nose was just enough to satisfy without overwhelming. The only negative is that we only had one bottle!
