All hail those simple, easygoing wines that don’t break the bank and give you all the joy. Bright lemon gold color with little green flecks. The nose is pretty chill and welcoming with ripe apples and fresh lemon zest initially. A little grapefruit and nice minerality. Fresh herbs and butter with just the faintest hint of toasted wood after some time in the glass.
Bargain Burgundy can definitely be hit or miss, with a lot of misses. Typically, one goes in with low expectations so the highs aren’t really that high but this is a pleasant surprise overall. More refinement than expected. Very citrusy on the palate with minerality and vanilla. You may not remember this one down the road but it’s right for tonight.
