Château de Bellevue
Andre Chatenoud Lussac-St. Émilion Sauvignon Gris
This was really tasty: a varietal you don’t see much anymore, it was a slightly darker golden color given its age w/green undertones. Some orchard fruit but more green citrus & guava w/distinct musky feral quality. Smooth silky a bit waxy on palate, reminded me of Semillon or Torrontes in texture. Very pleasant acidity & fruit flavors - kiwi, guava, some lemon & lime, stoniness, also that wild musky element. For like $10 this overdelivers big time.

Aug 17th, 2022A chameleon, pleasantly. Wetness, minerals, and lemon on the nose, teasing the tongue and shifting its weight from acidity to fruit. Have with greens, shellfish, conversation.

Jul 14th, 2016Best vintage for this. Very driven without any weight. Lemon pith and Anjou pear with green apple skins. Try this with their grilled octopus. Just lovely.
