Picked up this Bordeaux at Total Wine. It's a right bank Bordeaux from the Lussac-Saint-Émillion AOC. This brand is part of a conglomerate of Chateaus which produces primarily Merlot based red wines. The blend is 65% Merlot, 25% Cab Franc, and 10% Cab Sauv (based on what's on the bottle). This one was drinkable but nothing to write home about. ~$20 | #bordeaux #rightbank #totalwine

On the eyes: Brick red with pink rim. Light stain, med+ tears, no gas. Floc present.

On the nose: Vinuous, blueberry and violet with hints of bitter chocolate, med+ alcohol.

On the tongue: med acid, med+ tannin, med+ alcohol. Blueberry and cassis, violet, and rose petal with secondary favors of chocolate, pepper, and mineralty. Not very complex and weak finish. Decant for an hour before drinking.

Purply red, slightly more orange towards the edges, fruity nose with a hint of leather. Full mouth feel, well rounded but not very long, would go well with cheese

This, whilst being compared to a Medoc, is way less complex and it doesn’t carry over too much taste. It could be seen as a good light finish or something a bit short. Either way, to me, it is a calling for more liquid to be drank. It is pretty dry. It has a musty but flowery note.

Poepoe, dat is veel hout in één fles. Niet verkeerd als je er van hout. Iets te veel naar mijn smaak.

Another one I like. Not too much of any one characteristic.
