Transcends its appellation. | paired with Tournedos and king fungus, turnip greens. Happy Easter!

Last night we had close friends over and I stopped to buy a bottle for the gathering. I picked up a Jeraboam of the 2012 Château D'Aiguilhe Comtes Von Neipperg which is made up of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.

The aromas are of black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, black currant, chocolate, violet, mint, baking spice and earth.

On the palate the nose is confirmed with notes of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, spices and wet gravel.

This wine went over very well with our guests though unable to finish the whole jeraboam. The wine is full bodied and very velvety with medium + acidity and medium + sandy tannins that lead into a chocolatey fruit filled finish. A wonderful start to the weekend with friends that always helps make the wine special. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Tonight's wine is a beautiful Right Bank Bordeaux, the Château D'Aiguilhe Comtes von Neipperg Côtes de Castillon. 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc and at this price point is a steal.

The aromas on the nose are of black cherry, plum, chocolate, clove, rose, sweet tobacco, green olive and graphite.

On the palate are beautiful well integrated fruits of raspberry, plum, black cherry and then there is a big dose of green bell pepper with licorice, rose petals and graphite.

This wine is full bodied with a smooth mouth feel, medium+ acidity and medium fine mouth coating tannins that lead to a long clean fruit filled finish. Enjoy your rest of the week and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

This spectacular new world style Bordeaux is like being in Napa while touring Bordeaux, it is both elegant and robust, rich yet sophisticated, complex yet faltering. Nose is explosive and represents the exceptionally warm 2003 vintage, full of black current, ripen plums, spicy black cherries, coffee and 90% coco dark French chocolate. Full body, firm tannins that open up beautifully, the wine is round, rich, chewy yet not overwhelming, it is elegant and the finish is loooong. My score 90, drink 2012-2019
