2016 vintage. In the small Côtes de Francs AOC there is great value to be found. This organic wine is a blend of mainly Merlot, with some Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Deep colour, smoky nose with underlying cassis. Concentrated fruit, good acidity but unfortunately overextracted, leading to an overly tannic drying finish. Some people love this style, but it's not my cup of tea, concentration and extraction are not to be confounded. In my opinion this wine could be amazing with a more gentle extraction. Anyway, good value at less than 10 euros if you like the style. Abv. 14%.

Strong blackberry in the nose. A little bit smoky in mid-palette. Finishes very smooth with a hint of cherry

Very hard to fault for what it is....a terrific QPR wine for everyday food/wine pairing. Its saline component is quite interesting. Black tea quite assertive 45 minutes in. Should you be into organic/biodynamic farming you'll be doubly satisfied. It's a bit discordant at its end but at $12...you are getting what you paid for. Perfect for a wide array of Indian dishes. Give it a good breathe and slightly chilled. (Not for sipping.)

Cabernet bordelés clàssic d’un territori argilós a tocar St. Emilion, aromàtic i amb cos. Final especiat. Tête de veau a Chez Carmen.
