Was curious to try this as it was on the shelf at Sunshine Market (St. Helena, CA) as a 2007 and imported by Malbec & Malbec. Putting it up against some espresso rubbed tri tip on charcoal.
Nothing incredible out of the gate. Fine, tea-like tannins, soft palate driven by violets & dried herbs. Quaffable by all old world standards. Bordeaux structure is present in this wine’s ongoing finish. Needs air to reach this wine’s core.
