We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary 👰 🤵 . It was a slightly different type of day since we now have baby TC in tow however it still involved sparkling wine with brunch and this champagne 🥂 🍾
We picked up this Champagne Castelnau Brut Reserve from Dan Murphy’s for $60. We’d never come across it before so thought we’d give it a go. The champagne house is located in Remis and they’re known for their extensive lees aging. This Brut Réserve spends five years on lees before being released.
We found it a golden yellow shade in the glass with speedy bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. On the nose it made me think of toast with butter and honey on with some ripe peaches and a hint of citrus. In the mouth it’s fruity and zesty with some nice complexity and spice with a distinct nuttiness to it. Enjoyable and we’d buy it again 🍾
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
