Château Boswell
Estate Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Big and brawny with 10 years ahead of it... sweet kirsch, blackcurrants, sandalwood and dried flowers. Striking on the palate.

The nose reveals dark currants with some cassis layered over the top. Ripe, deeply rich fruit; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, blue fruits and candied strawberries on the edges. Dark chocolate bar, mocha bar, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, light caramel, dark rich soils, very light herbaceous, whiff of mint, saddle-wood, fresh tobacco, touch of dark crushed rocks, fresh, blue, red, dark red floral bouquet with violets.
The body just full and very soft, dry and dusty. Beautiful structure, tension, well balanced, excellent length. Ripe, deeply rich fruit; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, blue fruits and candied strawberries on the edges. Dark chocolate bar, mocha bar, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, light caramel, black licorice, dark rich soils, very light herbaceous, whiff of mint, saddle-wood, cedar comes on, fresh tobacco, touch of dark crushed rock powder, fresh, blue, red, dark red floral bouquet with violets. The acidity is beautiful. The finish is really nice but needs to be held 12–15 years in bottle to show you how truly beautiful it will become. It’s deep and dark and persists several minutes.
Photos of, Chateau Boswell, their immaculately clean barrel room, Estate fruit ready to be harvested and a side view of the Chateau.

Tasted in the caves at Chateau Boswell last week! Slightly leaner in style, the 40 percent cab franc in this year's blend tempers the richness and adds a really nice finesse! Definitely drinkable in the near term but with a little age, this will be beautiful!

Oh how I love the 2011 Napa vintage!
The expressive nose is layered with cassis, blackberry, fig, violet, cedar, sage, and hint of loamy soil. The medium to full body is elegant, with almost perfect acidity that’s lively and precise - bright enough but never intrusive. Finely resolved tannins lead to a long savory yet lightly candied finish.
This is in its prime, yet has ample concentration and structure to hold plateau for another 5-8 years.
