On this day I again trying an inexpensive Bordeaux. On the nose I am getting dark fruit, blackberries, dark plums and a smooth smokey scent. Lots of bold fruit on the nose. On the palate the fruit again pops, Blackberries, stewed plums, and a vegital note. Very nice smooth silky tannin and a hint of oak. Not bad for a Merlot based Bordeaux and only $12 Bones.

Oct 4th, 2013Unbalanced wine. When it’s first opened it had the nose of a promising Bordeaux . But that soon dissipated. What’s underneath is a ripe cherry cough syrupy sweet and bland juice with similar cough syrup bitterness. And it definitely did not get better the next day. 12.99 at K&L. I don’t understand why that was a staff pick. Would not get again.

Green pepper smackdown. Smooth and full bodied with fruit. No acidity or tannins. The perfect companion to a nice big bowl of pasta bolognese! Does not keep drink bottle in one sitting.
