Gorgeous nose. I’ve always loved 2001 in Margaux. Underbrush, mushrooms, kelp, flowers, super minerally. Initially quite closed but slowly blossoms but it does. Leafy in the best way. Like a late autumn day after a refreshing rain. Aligre always evokes a specific feeling in me. Palate has exceptional balance and freshness. Energetic and deep but clearly needs some decanting. Brambly red fruits tobacco and incredible juiciness. This wine is so great. What an estate. What an out of place wine in the modern Bordeaux!
