1995 is drinking way above its weight class... still with energy & beautiful style... nose of graphite, pencil shavings, black cherries and chocolate shavings, wet clay, cedar/cigar box - a winning coming in second next to wines five times more expensive featured at Gwen restaurant " best bottle " dinner hosted by WineLA on 2/8/2017

Quite tasty even if the Brett is at my upper threshold.

Seductive aromatics of black cherry and plum, touch of damp earth. Sweet fruit in the textured palate. Long, powerful finish. One of the wines of the day.

Lovely and accessible, the 1995 Angelus shows off its pedigree and high percentage of Cabernet Franc with only minimal decanting. A slightly woodsy bouquet of black currants, plums, cedar, forest underbrush, spiced orange pomander, dried lavender and incense. On the palate, poised supple tannins and a fine acid backbone underpin steeped blackberry, crème de cassis, bay leaf, dried herbs and delicate minerality. This legendary Saint-Émilion dances in the glass, and ends triumphantly, in a grand jeté.

Shod not have opened but delicious. Liquorice, cream, blueberries. May be better today.
