Pale gold with a constant stream of medium sized bubbles. The nose, while initially subdued, is really the best part. Dainty white flowers dominate with green apples mingling. Plenty of characteristic citrus fruit and nut aromas. A bit of toast, a bit more of red cherry. A nice streak of sweet honey to top it off.
From a co-op of growers in the Côte des Bar in the Aube region. Mostly the predominant grape of the region Pinot Noir with a nice chunk of Chardonnay and smatterings of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Blanc. This is a very classic, undemanding style of champagne that’s certain to appeal to a wide range of palates. Full bodied with a dosage of 9 g/l after spending 10 years on lees. Crisp and taut, the palate follows the nose with more citrus and toast to go with it. A superb bargain and one that should age quite well.
