Dark, dark red in the glass with wide edges. Big lush nose of chocolate cake, cherries, and a touch of vanilla. The star of the show here is the balance. Wonderful weight and balance. On the palate, stewed plums with toffee, more cherries, and cranberry. The biggest problem with this Merlot and others of it's ilk is that it's boring. Not bad, just a ho-hum. But it is a real Merlot and that counts for something.

Deep purple in colour, blackcurrant, tobacco and chocolate on the nose. Initially sweet with fruit but some complexity and tartness follows and then my favourite part, the lingering taste of flat cola. Good wine, purchased at the winery which always makes it taste better.

Smokey coriander on nose a little smoke on palate blueberry blackberry tones and integrated tannins on mid palate and a sharp backend with cranberry tones and smokey long finish!

Wonderful surprise. Ripe strawberries and cherry, light oak, medium bodied. Fabulous Merlot.
