This did not stand up to the 1990, but maybe in 10 years it will ;). It’s a great champagne, no doubt.

Jul 27th, 2025Perfectly aged. I love champagnes that get into the 2nd maturation phase with integrated tertiary aromas and caramel flavor notes. This is just at the right spot right now - if you have the 1990, drink now :)

Jul 27th, 2025Gold color. Vibrant and still going strong, definitely another 10-20 years left in the 2000 vintage. Unmistakably a Charles Heidsieck but much more refined and harmonious. A wonderful bottle to drink; the QPR is a bit challenging, but no regrets.
