For more than 4 decades, the Chappellet family has been crafting wines from fruit cultivated on the steep, rocky slopes of Napa Valley's Pritchard Hill. Aged for 8 months on French oak, (33% new) in its lees. Aromas of ripe stone fruits, citrus, honey and oaky scents. On the palate layers of fruit, apple, lemon and peach with balanced acidity and gentle toasty oak. Lingering smooth finish ending with fruit and oak tones, a bit creamy. Very well done. A joy to drink.

Refreshing acidity, but lacks complexity.

For more than 4 decades, the Chappellet family has been crafting wines from fruit cultivated on the steep, rocky slopes of Napa Valley's Pritchard Hill. Tried another bottle. Aged for 8 months on French oak, (33% new) in its lees. Aromas of ripe stone fruits, citrus and honey with gentle floral scents. On the palate integrated fruit, apple, lemon and peach with balanced acidity and smoky oak. Lingering smooth finish ending with full fruit and oak tones. Very well done. A joy to drink.

Creamy pear and melon fruit, with balanced acidity. Medium to full bodied. Has the richness and sheen of a pouilly fuissé but with dimensions of tropical fruit and very well integrated hazelnut/vanilla oak.

Butter, vanilla, coconut, pineapple, mango, peach and lemon curd, yellow flowers, tangerine, bruised if not jammy. No minerals or earthiness. Full body, creamy and round.

There is so much talk today about finding small unknown boutiquie wines from lesser known places. It's time to remember the legendary Wineries that brought us here. In 1967 Donn Chappellet planted his hillside in Pritchard Hill. This Chardonnay is a yummy value oriented delicious wine for my Wednesday supper I am thrilled to share with all of you.

globules of sweetness, lacking any signs of acidity...sorry but this is a train wreck....blind I would have thought Rombauer, which is a perpetual oak slathered butter stick mess. 😈
