I’m blown away how good this is. I thought it’d be history but it is tasty!

A blend of 47% Malbec, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12 petite Verdot, 11% Syrah and 3% carmenere this wine is very different from the 2010 this wine has a lot of peppery spice black earth and dark berry fruit blueberry and blackberry fruit white pepper spice very complex after it has been opened for an hour. Big and chewy with an array of dark berry fruit dark earth bitter chocolate and a good amount of that white pepper spice on the finish. Finish 50+ excellent +

Wasnt great. Not very complex, tannins were a bit harsh and the finish wasn't really there. I haven't had luck with Chalk Hill but maybe it's just luck of the draw.

Impeccable tannin profile, robust but refined.

Malbec, Cab, PV, Syrah, Carmenere. A bruising wine at this stage, though you can sense the inner core of sweetness lurking.

A smoother blend more balanced than the Malbec

A very deep wine. Showing a lot of the primarily Malbec but balanced with Cab Sauv Pettit Verdot. Needs a lamb or roasted meat.

Wonderful blend of primarily Malbec,Cab Sav, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Carmenere. So this 2011 has great young jammy fruit but it is not a fruit bomb in that it has complexity.
