A core of tense and saline fruit that is starting to express the power of this site. Compact and pure.

Comparisons to GC Chablis spot-on, citrus and pear, perfectly restrained zing. Way above expectations, had enjoyed the Arnot Roberts Trout Gulch before but I think this beat it.

Had the ‘15 last night which drank surprisingly well. And now the ‘14 presents even younger - vintages matter!

Very tart. The fruit and acidity on this is very nice, and you can tell it will age nicely, but it's just super young at this point. Green Granny Smith Apple, lemon rind, and even a touch of sweet tarts.

The dog abides when this stuff comes out. Drank this next to the Arnot Roberts Trout Gulch of the same vintage (AR was on its 2nd day). This was a medium shimmering yellow color, compared to the pale yellow, slightly green tinged AR. It is silkier and longer on the palate, with notes of lemon curd, oily grapefruit rind. A little more finesse and power, a little less bright acidity. I give this version of the trout the slight edge tonight but they are both great and have different functions in the lineup

⚡️Man, these wines have so much verve.. they remind me of my 4-yr old - full of freaking energy and absolutely unrelenting... in a good way of course 😇

Nose is so clean with some mineral drive, crisp Granny Smith, and floral aromatics, palate is lively and fresh.. much more crisp and light weight than the Charles Heintz vineyard. The anti-Cali chard. Rombauer lovers, look away! 😆

With air this really came together. Love how elusive and flirtatious the nose and palate are. Lemons, saline, crisp apple/pear, blossoms, seashells, little hints of sweet caramel and custard. Not at all about amplitude, more focus and nerve. The high acid is what really got me. Not sharp or angular but a tension that is felt texturally. Really want to revisit with 3-5 years on it.

Focused and precise. This vineyard makes amazing chard. Apparently one of the latest ripening chard vineyards in the area. Lemon rind, freshly cut green apple, green papaya, ACID, white flowers, dash of sea salt. Great trade for freshly foraged Chantrelle Californicus. A little flat on day 2. Lowered rating a notch. Thanks Richard Alfaro!
