Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

On the nose cherries, blueberries, raspberries, earth, light vanilla, wood, licorice, eucalyptus, river rocks, wet leaves, spices, graphite and black pepper.

Medium-bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, raspberries, licorice, coke, cloves, spices, earth, pencil lead, vegetables and black pepper.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a young Chateauneuf du Pape, that needs a couple of years to mature and remove much of the acidity.

Unbalanced at this point and better with food. Showing a nice mouthfeel and nice complexity.

Needs an hour to open up properly and show some tannins.

A blend of 90% Grenache, 5% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. Aged in oak barrels for 10 months.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

87 Points.

$30.

Had the 2012. This winery has been producing CDP for over 90 years. From 30+ year old vines and should gain complexity over time. Fruit forward. Lot of dark fruit along with a little vanilla and spice. Very enjoyable CDP

Bold, with cherry or plumb notes. Too bold for a bbq pork tenderloin we had, but would pair great with a steak. Loved it for the price from Costco.

Medium ruby. Syrupy.
High intense of raspberry with hint of leather.
Medium full body. Bone dry. Medium high tannin with medium acidity.
Long lasting. Dominated by tannin first and finish with fruit.
Well balanced.

Costco, $17

Nice spicy fruit bouquet. Red berries, with a dry and slightly bitter earthy notes like leather or tobacco, slightly astringent but good acidity. Pretty solid body with a lingering finish. In all, good complexity and nice to drink, well worth what I paid, but the slight bitterness wasn't so nice.

Color granate con muestras de evolución, expresivo en aromas a frutos rojos en mermelada. En boca armónico con sus aromas, de ataque suave y persistencia moderada.

My introduction to southern France. Certainly a good wine. Very drinkable. But I don't think it's worth the hype. Reminds me of a Pinot noir.
