Well, I certainly would've pegged this as a nice, moderately aged Rioja! Hah. Dark red ripe fruits (cherries, raspberries, etc), underlying herbs, pepper, hint of umami. Long developing finish. Good tannin balance just hair shy of full integration. Very well crafted, this is my kind've wine, and twice on Sunday

A favorite. While ripe at first, there was big acidity and full body. Needed red meat, which we provided.
