Cave Vinicole de Kientzheim-Kaysersberg
Anne de K Schlossberg Grand Cru Riesling
Last night was the Confrerie St. Etienne Spring dinner. It was my first time attending. This is a chapter of the original group out of Alsace, France, and is the only chapter here in the US...just happens to be in my neck of the woods! Great introduction to Alsace wines.
Kind of surprised at the reviews here for this wine. Maybe people rated the wrong one? This grand cru Riesling was paired with a Chilean sea bass and both were excellent. Not a lot of petrol on the nose, but it checked off most Riesling notes of honeycomb, pear and had that lovely sweet and quick finish on the palate.

A bit sweeter than I expected having 2014 in 2017. This wine had notes of red fruit and cherry with pear on finish.

May 2nd, 20172014v. Light nose, but a nice perfume of lime, honeysuckle, and petrol. Dry on the palette with a lot of juicy fruit: lime, lemon, and tart yellow or green apple. A little petrol on the long, citrus zest finish. Overall, this is a very elegant and well balanced wine, but it's a little too lean-bodied for my liking. The delicate body limits pairing abilities. I would <not> recommend it with bold ethnic or spicy food. 13% ABV.
