Usually a wine that’s banging year in, year out, but tonight it just wasn’t showing. MH blames it on root day and he may well be right - the wine was just so stubbornly closed. Simple black fruits on the nose, which after much coaxing in the glass does reveal spices, hints of violets and pyrazines, some meatiness, and at times, some nose hair burning volatile acidity. Quite dense on the palate, with fleshy black and red fruits, good acidity, and rather rigid, almost-green (the pyrazines?) tannins. Inoffensive, but just lacked the purity and energy expected from this wine.

Black, brooding, dense. Yet fresh at the same time.
Dark plum, dusty cherry, black currant leaf, 95% chocolate, dark roast. But also fresh mint leaves, verbena, lemon juice.
On the palate this shows dense yet polished juicy tannins and a beautiful balance. Amazing purity of fruit, a savoury aroma spectrum, good length and grip.
A beauty that never disappoints.

Fresh, pure, sappy. Graphite & crushed dark rock, green peppers, cedar wood, violets, a hint of roast, all on a bed of juicy dark plums and sweet dark cherries. Seductive with interesting little details.
On the palate this is just so pure, juicy, seems light yet there’s depth.
Beautifully polished tannins with a hint of (good) greenness, a mineral backbone, great balance. There’s flow here, brilliant drinkability.
Not filtered or fined & w/o SO2. Biodynamic.
