Le Ban Saint-Aubin Pinot Noir

Dinner at Saignant in Angers. Big piece of entrecôte with a bottle of Derain. Robust pinot, slightly tannic. Right wine, right time, right table.

There's a crazy caramel and bacon thing going on through the finish. It's definitely unique.

A lot of interesting foresty notes, but primary fruit is gone :(

Super reductive and Bretty. Opened up, but not super enjoyable.

Smells like the gauzy part of a band-aid caked with fresh-dried blood & hay. Totally into it.

Nez sur la girole et fruit rouge
Bouche ample puis rapidement grosse acidité mordante et amertume
Vin avec les défaut de sa jeunesse mais qui s aggravent par la perte du fruit
On est limite courage de gueule

Can sit for a while. Nice nose and finish. Tannins still a little to grippy.
