Blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah and maybe Tannat. Purple red, cloudy, dense. Plum note and a touch of butter in nose. Plum, tart cherry and black pepper flavors, moderate fine-grained tannins and astringency in finish. Can use 20 minutes aeration to settle the tannins, yielding cherry fruit leather and an additional cool flavor, reminiscent of dried Chinese licorice plum. Despite this winery’s heavy tannin/aging style for its reserve reds, this wine was surprisingly approachable. Can be aged, but already drinkable

Marries grapes from east side and west side of Paso Robles. Great idea. My preference is for the west side wines, but petite sirahs growing on east side are also favorites
