Castello di Amorosa Voyager Vineyard Napa Valley Sangiovese 2018, California

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. A pretty color.

On the nose cooked cherries, plums, currants, earth, herbs, oak, vanilla, licorice, light vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, a touch of honeysuckle and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, sweet cherries, plums, oak, light tobacco, vanilla, dark chocolates, pencil lead, earth, herbs, coffee and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with soft tannins.

This is a very interesting red wine from Napa Valley. Tangy and elegant. Complex and soft.

Fruit-forward and better with food. A good quality wine that will age nicely in the next 10 years.

Still young and will be interesting to try it again in 3 years.

This Single Vineyard needs time to open up. I gave it 2 hours to let it show the complexity.

100% Sangiovese grapes were aged for 18 months in (35% New) French oak barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$45.
