One of eight wines in a Tuscan tasting, held a week ago. This one tended to be less popular with the group as a whole, although it did have one or two fans. It came across as more rustic than the rest of the wines and had a mild barnyard element in the nose that I didn’t love. There was also more acidity on the back end, and a little more complexity than some of the other wines displayed. Still, not one I’d track down again.

When I started collecting I bought a bunch of mid range super Tuscan. It was mostly hit or miss, but I found some gems. This one is one of them. Dense nose of sour cherries, plum and spice. Medium+ palate and long and light finish. Great QPR.
