Awesome Chianti! Cherry liquor and cedar on the nose. Cherry, sour cherry, herbs and some subtle wood in the mouth. My new favorite Chianti Classico. You could spend a lot more and still not match the sophistication in this Chianti. Looking forward to tasting everything Castellare di Castellina produces!

Good vintage displaying classic herbal and cherry notes. Stock up since the '14 will need some developing.

A perfect, entry-level Chianti Classic, showing a bouquet of dried strawberry, cedar, leather, dusty spice and a hint of barnyard. On the palate, medium-weight textures gave way to zesty acidity, with flavors of tart red fruit, plum and inner floral tones. It was dry on the finish with a hint of youthful tannin tugging at the senses along with a note of bitter wild berries.

This is how Chianti should taste like: earthy, acidic, with light to medium body.

Big hit of anise on the nose and delivers on the palate.
