A bottle that's really makes you question the 'superiore' classification. The extra alcohol really brings this wine out of balance and takes away a lot of the varieties charm and food friendliness. I feel 'inferiore' would be more apt. Don't get me started on Italian Wine Law!

Ho hum. Kind of bitter. Improved some after opening up. Not a favorite.

Smooth, but not the barbera we've been searching for. Strong on the nose when in the glass, perhaps needed decanting. Clean and drinkable. Purchased at Hawaii Kai Costco 5/2015. $18ish

It's a 90 at the price point. Decanting is a must, but after that, quite good.
