Exactly what you expect from a quality producer in Piedmont. Heavily perfume on the nose. Sour cherry, leather, tobacco, vanilla, wood. The palate shows grippy tannins without being overly drying, so it’s perfect with a meal, but also fine by itself. This wine is in a very good place. Showing some age, but definitely has a long life ahead with proper care. Just...*chef’s kiss*

Fucking lovely. Still has acid and structure but mellowed with lots of dried fruit. Drink the 2010 now.

Tar, almonds, marzipan, prunes and kirsch on the nose. Alcohol is still present on the palate, however the tannins have started to soften. Long, savoury finish with notes of licorice and leather. Colour is a beautifully clear brick red. Drink now or keep for 5-10 years.

Had with grilled lamb which paired well with the tannins and the gorgeous silkiness. Tart cherries, pine, tar, bit of anise. Lovely.
