Enchanting aromas of red and black cherries, pine cone, leather, light incense, and hint of truffles. The acidity was still quite bright and high tone, and the tannins was slightly sweet and chewy. Long elegant finish. Needs minimum 5 more years to reach its peak.
It was incredible that this 12-year Barolo was available at $54 in a local Italian restaurant. What a deal!

Nov 25th, 2019The nose was driven by rose petal, leather, and vanilla from the barrique . There are undertones of some dusty earth and wet mushroom. The fruit is starting to fade on the nose but on the palate shows a lot of tangy dried cranberry. Alcohol is a little hot and with persistent tannins and pleasantly tart acidity. Have with a steak or earthy fungi preferably in a butter sauce.
