Opaque crimson red. Funky nose with aromas of barley and black currant. Great presence on the palate, again with funky sensations, flavors of red bell pepper, dark plum, celery, and dark tobacco leaf towards the end. You can feel the flavor of toasty oak. Smokyness comes through at the end. Also some prune juice flavor. This wine is pretty linear and somewhat boring. Lacks complexity and nuances. It is pretty dry, which is a good thing. Medium body. Short finish. Okay acidity and tannis. It is an okay wine. 83 pts.
