Casar Bierzo Mencía

Dark and peppery, seemed like a Cab or merlot, maybe CF. This varietal is not grown in the US.

This was a polished Mencía, Decanter liked it a bit more than I did apparently, it’s all violets, rocks and iron. Good deal too

Very dry, very earthy lots of chewy tannins, not a ton of fruit.

Really restrained at open. Not much fruit expression. Very earthy. Second day it showed some dark fruit. A bit dry.

A good way to get into Premium Mencia. Fruit, spices, and wood IN good harmony. One of my preferred producers IN Bierzo. Need to try their high end.

Capa y densidad alta, en nariz potencia media, frutas rojas, regaliz negro, y frutos secos. En boca buena entrada, goloso redondo y con un final vivo y con secante. Buen Mencia...

Grilled pork chops and Mencia.

Très bon vin, bio nature, cépage Mencia, 2.1g de sucre. Bien balancé, mi-corsé, assez doux, excellent avec viande rouge, gibier, BBQ. Un excellent match avec le poivre noir. $19 SAQ

Medium body, juicy, black cherry 🍒.

Aging gracefully. Aromas of Forrest Floor, currants, vanilla and leather. Pallet is full of black currant fruit with hints of dark chocolate and eucalyptus. Medium acidity. Long and tannic finish. Highly concentrated. Thank You Ron B!
