Surprisingly sturdy & closed. Needs at least 6h to open.
Bright cherry, some leather, a bit of dried tomato.
On the palate this is savoury, dry, a touch rustic with pronounced tannins and bright, juicy acidity. A hint of tobacco leaf & roast on the finish.
Needs a lot of time to open but paired with beef this just sings. A delight worth aging.

Black fruits and enough tanning. It takes 3 hours to open it. But good potential. 2015 @1600, Boboli, 211112

Now in Roma. Tomorrow, I turn 50. Aug. 26th. It's 1115pm here, so I guess Roma time, I will begin my 2nd half-century with the Casanova di Neri Rosso, which I've never seen in the US (the Brunello yes).

This was like 14 euro at the winery, and I should have shipped home a few cases. It's approachable, all around versatile, great Tuscan wine.

Tomorrow I will drink their 2012 Tenuta Nuova.
