Popped and poured; no formal notes. Served alongside our dinner of a simple pasta dish: spaghetti all’arrabbiata. The 2013 CC Riserva from Casa Emma is redolent of gorgeous black cherry, raspberries, bergamot, dried green herbs, espresso, a touch of leather and subtle spices. Stout structure with tannin still firm and acid ideal for food. Long, dry and sublime finish. Every time I drink these wines from Casa Emma, I fall deeper in love. Drink now through 2033+.

Popped and poured; consumed over several hours. This bottle currently benefits from air; needing at least 30 minutes to really open. However, when it did, what a ride! Loads of bright cherry on the nose accompanied by leather, mushrooms, wet asphalt, tomato leaf, dried herbs, dry dusty earth. On the palate, tart cherries, minerals, and earth. Medium-plus tannins and medium-plus acid giving it plenty of structure. Long finish. A wine of incredible freshness and a stunning example of Chianti Classico Riserva.

Very enjoyable wine in a perfect place age wise. Lots of fruit, quite seamless, pretty robust, long finish, great acid, perfect with snake river steaks on the grill.

Nice Chianti riserva with some good age. Needs a solid couple hour decent. Not overly complex but good earth and medium red fruit with some nice acid structure on the finish.

Great tannins and a good pucker and slight tangyness. Rich and full bodied.

Deep purple, intense color, leggy, tight nose of dark fruit. Well balanced tannins with mild astringency. Decanted for an hour and this opens up the wine terrifically. This wine really comes into its own with food.
