Carter Cellars
LA BAM Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
On the nose, bright fruit floral nose. LThe florals were stunning in all the 16’s we tasted. Dark currants & cassis, gummy cola quality. Blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, bay leaf, dark raspberries, creamy raspberries and poached strawberries. Dark rich soils, melted dark chocolate, stones nice baking spices, dark spice, new leather, crush rocks with beautiful, fresh dark florals.
The body is fuller than the others but, not quite full. It glides smoothly over the palate with thick, round chewy meaty tannins. Bigger structure & tension yet still well balanced. Dark currants & cassis, gummy cola quality. Blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, bay leaf, dark raspberries, creamy raspberries and poached strawberries. Dark rich soils, melted dark chocolate, stones nice baking spices, dark spice, new leather, crush rocks with beautiful, fresh dark florals. The acidity is fantastic. Long, big structure, well, balanced, elegant, rich, beautiful finish.
Photos of, Carter Winery and tasting room, outside stainless steel tanks, another one of Marks wife’s beautiful art pieces hanging in their barrel room and their tasting bar.

A wonderful wine that we enjoyed with our Christmas dinner that included some beef tenderloin. Not sure how they do it but Carter keeps cranking out wonderful cabs.

Not the fruit bomb I was expecting, great bottle. I’ve had it before but couldn’t remember🤷🏼♂️. If memory serves me correct Mike Smith no longer makes Carter, its Russell Bevan now.
I have never had a Bevan that will out live this bottle,

Jul 5th, 2019If only I could get my hands on the 16 La Verdad, but this will do,
2016 Myriads & Carter’s @Mike Smith are all fantastic!
3-4 hour decant recommended to truly enjoy
