Rosat Escumós Catalunya Rosé Blend

Fun fun fun. Wild strawberries just a day before perfectly ripe. And a funky yeasty beer-y thing. Don't think of it as wine. Just think of it as tasty. You'll have to trust me.

Underripe strawberries, raspberry bitters, sourdough bread, cheese rind. Great round acid, medium bodied, more fizzy than bubbly, tart dry meaty/sour beer finish. Minimal intervention pet-nat, perfect for summer. Wine profile with beer texture.

This is one of the most unusual wines I have possibly ever had. An amazing Spanish sparkling rose that has petrol on the nose (yes, it's a Rose) and stinky cheese. A brandied color and loses its effervescence after only a few minutes (beer cap!?!) and just went so well with a variety of dishes. I probably would have thought it to be a cider if I didn't know better. Not quite ripe strawberry and certainly not for the everyday wine drinker for sure, but I quite enjoyed the experience.

I asked for unusual and boy did I get it. Tangy with a bit of sweetness plus that wild(ish) yeasty thing. Great rosé #color. Fun!

Chewy and savory

Is this wine, or open-fermented farmhouse beer? Green-tipped strawberries. Cream soda. Hints of fennel.

Rusty, mold to the nose. Really funky, wish I had some Serrano ham and a funky cheese to help was this down...
