Carmel Winery
Upper Galilee Cabernet Sauvignon
What a disappointing Wine. Started great, fruity and balanced, but after 15 minutes of opening, turned tart and acidic.
Dark purple in color with a Purple rim.
Fruity on the nose with blueberries, cherries, strawberries, light blackberries, green pepper, plums, light vanilla, oak, spices and black pepper.
Dry and tart on the palate with cherries, strawberries, cranberries, sour plums, licorice, wood, nutmeg, spices and peppercorn.
Medium to full bodied, with high acidity.
Medium finish with bitter tannins and tart cherries.
I was expecting more of this Cabernet Sauvignon (with some Petite Verdot). Great nose, great legs, but disappointing on the palate. Might be better in a couple of years, has enough acidity to carry it for a while.
Aged in oak barrels for 14 months.
14% alcohol by volume.
