Cardwell Hill Cellars
Estate Bottled Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
The first thing I noticed is the shinning bright red cranberry juice appearance of this wine. As pointed out by others the Pinot Grape in this wine is overwhelmed by apple spice with heated Cream Sherry flavour. This unique but enjoyed. There is minimal terroir flavour as allspice finish arrives in the back of end with some heat. If you don’t allow this wine to breathe the alcohols heat overwhelms. I’ve seen other describe the acidity as “cedaree” and concur with this comparison. Enjoyed with spicy turkey sausages and roasted root vegetables. Cheers!
