one of life's great sensationsđź’«: enjoying New York's most succulent roast %chicken (at #Barbuto, of course) while discovering an immensely likable and affordable white wine: the interminably named '17 #Caravaglio Malvasia Bianco Secco Salina IGP, from the Aeolian island of Salina near Sicily in southern Italy. Medium to full weight, with an exotically floral and briny nose, and clean, rich, salty-dry flavors that evoke flowers and pears. Add in hyper-flavorful, charmingly craggy, thankfully mountainous plate of pecorino and rosemary potatoes.

Grabbed this bottle at the local store because of happy memories drinking Salina Bianca with incredible meals and incredible company (my now fiancée) on the Aeolian Islands a little over a year ago.
It’s crisp, with a nose of hot rocks and aromatic muscadine, honeysuckle and greengage plums. Palate is rounder than expected, though still dry. A little more acid would be ideal, but with a chill and the right food, this is a happy summertime treat.

Light, good acidity, soft florals. Perfect island wine for a perfect island lunch.

100% Malavasia Bianco from the Aeolian Island of Salina which is volcanic like Etna and the Canary Islands. Fragrant/Aromatic. Very bright - medium bodied. Skin contact apparent. Mineral acidity. Enjoyable.
