Dark purple. Deep purple even. Nose has a hint of berry and some herbaceous leafy stuff. Tart cherry, tart plum, tart berries. Tart. Very dry as well. Like dark chocolate and under-ripe summer fruits. Also has a streak of fiddlehead fern in it. As contrary to New World as wine gets. Nothing lush, caramel-y or vanilla here. Just funky, interesting, unsweetened juices of tart fruits.
