Italy 🇮🇹 had to be one of my favourite countries when #mrspittoon and I were backpacking in Europe. I was literally in food and wine heaven! I picked this bottle of 2015 Nero D'Avola (grape variety) from
Ciello Rosso in Sicily for #thetcwineclub (travellingcorkscrew.com.au/wine-club) to do a bit of reminiscing really. Plus I knew I'd have no issues with matching it with a weeknight dinner. On the menu the night we had this was spaghetti bol 🍝

It's a juicy cherry 🍒 red colour on the eye. It has a smokey vanilla tobacco nose with hints of red plums and cedar. In the mouth it has a savouriness to it with cherry acidity and a baking spice infused finish.

Medium to Dark Ruby
Nose: Loud dark Jam, Acetone
Palate: Metallic, some tannins, not well balanced
Charcuterie and cheese Board at home

Dry, very smooth

Very nice, especially for the value

It took her a while to open up and reveal her fruity aromas ( plum, strawberry?). Medium body indeed, light tanins and high acidity. Would enjoy a few years in a cellar
