Barolo Nebbiolo

Solid but not earth shattering. Not kicking it out of bed.

So very italian. Not a ton of complexity—first foray into barolo, hopefully to understand the genere more with time.

2015 (375 ml). Nice surprise. Tart red cherry fruit, minerals, slight tertiaries (mushrooms? roses?) with well-integrated tannins. Takes 3-4 hours to fully show but solid Barolo example for the money, good with food. 30-35.

Decent wine for the price but not exceptional. Decant for a while. Not very complex.

Exploding with spice and minerals. Very light texture with a lot of body. Tastes great, similar to cabernet savignon but lighter

Subtle. Nice. Smooth. Not overwhelming. Great for the price as well.

Break out the Pythagorean Theorem, good god almighty these grapes are angular. Pot hole city. Aroma of steaming asphalt and strawberry shortcake. Tannins popping like the top of a Maserati. Do you have a compass? Cause I’m lost in the sauce in Italia.
