This is not barbera despite the name, but camaiola grape. Olives, a bit of game, a lot of plum and berry, long lingering finish with tannin and some earth. This is better on day 3. Definitely a repeat buy.

Sometimes “rustic” means charming with rough edges, and sometimes it means rough edges everywhere. This wine is the latter. Very heavy red fruit and purple tannins, a bit more smooth on day two but it hit my palate like a brick both days.

Silky smooth. Heavier mouthfeel; a little syrupy, almost medicinal, but good medicinal. Slightly hot on the finish (13.5%). Cherry. Paired with farfalle and red sauce.
