These are notes from my memory of last night. This was outstanding. Loads of dried cherry fruit and bright cracked stony/gravelly minerality. A very linear mouthfeel, with length, intensity, and focus favored over broadness. A great example drunk with my Novarese braised roast.

Gattinara in Gattinara. 80% Nebbiolo, 10% Croatia & 10% Vespolina. Porphyr rocks and clay soils. Spending the day in the vineyards and with the team behind this relatively new winery & this has been the wine of the night. 17 is a leaner vintage in a good spot right now. Dried oregano, sage, thyme nettles, red and black currant, cinnamon and licorice spice, rose. So light. Silky and resolved tannins.
