Dec 27th, 2014Outstanding Montepulciano d’Abbruzzo! Dark garnet (almost ruby) color. Intense aromas of bacon, coffee and smoke. Red and black berry fruit and that ever-present bacon. Hints of mushroom and black licorice. Nice oak integration which really accentuates the nice long finish. Medium bodied. Nicely balanced. Soft but somewhat intense at the same time. Very pleasant surprise.

Sep 22nd, 2022Smells of cherries with notes of vanilla. Tastes of black currents and pepper - full but even. Not very acidic, nor extremely dry; a good combination. Smoke aftertaste. Taking a guess it would be very good with a creamy cheese and pepper. Gives a similar feeling of “bad,” “cool,” and “refreshed,” like that feeling you get after that single cigarette you smoke once every three months. Bottle from 2015

Apr 8th, 2018Full bodied, garnet in color. Modern in style, the amount of oakiness is a welcome and tasteful departure from the traditional Italian lightly oaked wine. Asian spice, blackberry, dark cherry, chocolate, unlit cigar on the nose. Dark cherry, slow guy spice, and a touch of oak on the palate.
